CD Reviews

Good laid back rockin' à la Neil Young And Crazy Horse
Frederic Charest | canada | 12/02/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I heard of that band in the Ronnie Lane's Documentary The Passing Show. They toured with the Faces in the early 70's. I Found it on vinyl a week later at my local record store in Montreal. It is an awesome album. I just couldn't believe it. It's got that early Crazy Horse quality to it. Laid back Neil Young drum style with vocals reminiscent of Danny Whitten. Cool bluesy guitar riffin'. I learned recently that they were Joe Cocker's backin' band. Also I think the guitar player joined Wings (P.Mccartney) later on. Go for it, it's worth it."
All Greased up

(4 out of 5 stars)

"These guys are such fine and underrated musicians, known mainly as Joe Cocker's back up band. Granted, one or two songs are a tough listen after all these years, but for the most part this album stands the test of time and still has an edge to it. "Willie and the pig", "Jesse James" and the incredible "Laugh at the judge" are well worth the price of the disc alone."
