Legendary performances on CD for the first time! Music of three fascinating Late Romantic composers who have been unjustly neglected. Sir Granville Bantock (1868-1946) was fascinated by exotic subjects, and his descriptive musical language is reflected in his series of six tone-poems. Dubbed "a cockney Wagner," Holbrooke (1878-1958) often chose Celtic themes. Cyril Rootham (1875-1938) had a keen literary sensitivity. He was Director of Music at St. John's College and a lecturer and conductor at Cambridge.
