CD Reviews

Smooth country
2catmom | Lee's Summit, MO United States | 11/15/2003
(4 out of 5 stars)

"I'm a long-time Grandstaff and Statler's fan. This new CD is great, shows a lot of improvement since their independent CD (Grandstaff). They've gotten smoother and more professional and deserve to be getting some radio air play. They've written some of these songs, also picked some great new writers' works. They are definitely country, not crossover pop."
There is potential

"First of all, Langdon Reid and Wil Reid may be the sons of "Statler Brothers" Harold and Don Reid, but this ain't their Daddy's Album. I am not fond of country music, but I am interested in Grandstaff and I sincerely hope they make a go of their career. If you are looking at Grandstaff to be "Statler Brothers part 2", sorry you are looking in the wrong place. Even their rendition of "How are things in Clay, Kentucky" (a Statler tune) differ greatly from previous recordings I have heard. This CD shows their voices are great and they have dramatic potential and they will appeal to the "Alan Jackson" type country fans more than the older Statler crowd."
Good music

"There are a couple of great ballads on this CD along with a few rockin' country tunes. The songs sound so familiar, it's easy to listen to. I enjoyed it very much."
