It's like Be Your Own PET at the wrong speed

"No, there aren't any samples here...but don't let that stop you. If you wanna know what GOP sounds like, go to the Be Your Own PET release of your choice. Click on a track, then imagine what that song would sound like if it was a 45 played at 33 (for all you kids out there, I'm talking about RECORDS).

Seriously now, this is a great album. All the songs swagger and stomp with a sassy, bluesy racket. And how many bands these days have a girl drummer who's also the singer? Too bloody cool! If you like Rid of Me, Stairs and Elevators, or C'mon DJ, you'll dig Grand Ole Party. Order it! Support indie bands!

Best new female voice since natalie merchant, maybe grace sl

"this is a fire hot item. i saw the first song "look out young son" on some website and was transfixed. it is hard electric blues the way i like it and the way it seems no one sings it anymore. and she's a woman. reminds me of grace slick on surrealistic pillow. the rest of the band is great -- very good guitar licks and compositions. i fantasize about them doing covers of robert johnson, elmore james, john mayall, cream, on and on. but the compositions are very good so whatever they come up with next (or if the lead singer goes solo) i'm buying it. have i said the lead singer is deadly? and from the video and the photo in the cd quite the looker. all in all i think she should consider covers as well as original compositions -- her voice and delivery are so fabulous that i worry that waiting for all original compositions will give us too little too late. remember the rolling stones first half dozen or so efforts. i can't believe i didn't see this group on television first. i am almost 60 and early!"
