Album Description
"In the sphere of instrumental music Williams never surpassed the polished yet strongly felt Sea Sketches in which ... one hears echoes of her friend Benjamin Britten's Variations on a Theme of Frank Bridge." - GRAMOPHONE Grace Williams (1906-1977) may be considered one of the finest women composers of the twentieth century, but her work has been cruelly neglected. A pupil of Egon Wellesz and Ralph Vaughan Williams, she wrote passionate music influenced by both Mahler and Shostakovich. Fantasia on Welsh Nursery Tunes is her most famous work.

Bellisimo! Bellisimo!
Macro Bansud | Buenos Aires ,Argentina | 10/10/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Los que opinan que las mujeres estan vedadas para la creación tienen aquí a la destrucción de su postura. Bellisima música, atractiva, muy bien orquestada y que se disfruta desde el principio al fin y llama a escuchar mas de lo mismo."
