CD Reviews

Gorgeous!!!
Melanie Smeltzer | Wickenburg, Arizona United States | 10/08/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"All-in-All I have to say that this is one of the best CD I've ever had. The exquisitely glammy, and playfully tart voice of Johnny Goudie is extremely fitful for this type of music. The songs exceed gorgeousness, and are.. I must admit, sometimes humorous, perhaps a little filthy, but it was more then fitting. With songs like 'Shy' that you can sometimes catch a few notes that sound as if they came from a Cardigan's song with a beautiful melodic twist. And then comes in 'Drag City' which at first may bring a bit of shock, simply because they dare... and get away with the lyrics. But in the end... it pulls you in.. and you just can't help but like it. I would suggest this to anyone with a taste for glammy, lust filled music, with a twinge of naughtiness."
And they're even better live!

"I first heard the CD on New Year's from one of my friends, and loved it immediately. You can't catch every aspect of their complicated melodies and intruiging lyrics the first time. With all the teenybopper pop that's out there, their sound is a breath of fresh air to alternative and rock lovers. I saw them a couple perform in Houston, and it's the best club experience I've ever had. Not only were they great, but Johnny Goudie signed my CD, and was extremely nice. This is a must have for your CD collection!"
Officially A Peep

"I want to give this album a 5 Star rating, but I'm a bit prudish, and some of the lyrics here are down right sick. Fetishes with dead girls? Yeiks, as beautiful as the song is, "Julia", is just too close to my name. Johnny Goudie is an awesome vocalist, and makes up for it with his cherry on top "When will you be mine". The most beautiful (and normal) song on the album -- Around and 'round he goes, hypnotising you with each phrase. Baby Hello, is definatley the best song on the album. All about phone sex "but with someone you love" says Johnny (of course). My next favourites would be "Sugar Daddy", and "Buy Me". Both excellent!! Conclusion: Take a peep! ... Go on ... You know you want to ;o)"
