"Currently one of the best bands in the resurgent Minneapolis rock scene, Gospel Gossip are greatly underrated by the Pichfork "indie rock" scenesters. This music is timeless, although they probably would have fit in good with the "120 Minutes" college rock of the 1980's. Initially tagged as "shoegaze," that title greatly limits their musical touchstones. They are far more energetic than anything that gets labeled "shoegaze". Lead singer, Sarah Nienaber, has vocals that are dreamy like Mazzy Star's Hope Sandoval, but less sleepy. Their music often builds to crescendos full of psychedlic feedback and leaves the listener fully satisfied before the comedown. Highly recommended and great live band. If there was any justice in this world, Gospel Gossip, would be getting more attention."
