Detko | Scarborough, Ontario Canada | 07/09/2007 (5 out of 5 stars) "I thought their first solo effort "L" (c1977) was a little too self-indulgent though nicely produced, and would have rated it 3 stars, but Freeze-Frame (c1978) is consistently interesting and as good as their 10CC work. Paul McCartney provides some backing vocal on the final cut but you can't recognize him due to GC's production. Overall Freeze Frame is Very interesting, lots of various instrumentation, some Gizmo, percussion, layered harmonies, interesting studio tricks, clever lyrics, and Phil Manzanera (Roxy Music) also plays guitar on most tunes. So mainly on the strength of Freeze Frame I would rate this a 5-star collection."
