Please Listen To This Music

"Beautiful, simply beautiful music. This is suite of solo piano music, the only consistency between pieces being that each originated as "Music of Resistance", ranging from anthems from the Spanish Civil War through music of the Chilian patriots resisting the Pinochet goverment to John Lennon's "Imagine". Clearly, this description may either thrill or repel you for all the wrong reasons. Anyone who listens to these tracks will be better for the experience. Mirabassi obviously feels deeply about these pieces, and his performances are moving. Technically, both performance and recording are exceptional, and the emotional content powerful. This is one of those performances you will find yourself recommending to friends."
Utter garbage!

"Whoa! Let's drop some of those stars, and quickly. This tinkly treacly pretensious junk is exactly the kind of pianistic trash that jazz lovers have nightmares about. I heard of this album by accident through an Amazon cross-reference from a Charlie Haden album, and I was seduced by the rave reviews I saw. Just goes to prove how unreliable Amazon reviews can be. Will I ever learn? Sure, this might be to your taste. My advice is: don't buy before giving a listen. It'll make you nostalgic for George Winston."
