"I had no idea who this was or that she was even releasing a cd until I walked into the music store and saw it on a listening station. I think only in NYC will you see al album like this on a listening station. Well i put it on and thought my ears were going to explode from the energy coming out. i did not expect this at all especailly from a singer of Expose. This sounded like a breakthrough eurodance artist. I am shocked that I have not heard any of her songs on the dance radio station here in NY or even in the clubs for that fact. If you like eurodance you will love this cd."
Great Dance CD.......

"This CD is a great debut for the former Expose' singer, right down to the clever title: Expose This. The type of CD that gets you pumped up to go out for a night of dancing. Unique beats to go along with her unique voice. The only disappointment here is that the CD does not include the club smash: "From The Inside". Other than that there is plenty of dance songs with a few ballads to boot.
Standout tracks include: "Be Mine", "Barely Breathing", and my personal favorite: "Incredible". 2 great ballads: "Until The End Of Time" and "I Need You". Also includes the DJ Strobe remix of "Be Mine".
Gioia wrote the majority of the songs but I am not feeling the Kiss cover of: "I Was Made For Loving You".
Not really a trace of the 80's Expose' sound on this CD but if you are a fan of good dance music then this CD is for you."
Fantabulous CD

"All I can say is that this album is AWESOME. I totally waited forever for this CD. All the songs are great...Her voice is so powerful and sounds better and better each time she sings. This is an absolutley must have album. Her days in Expose' were great but her as a solo artist is 10 times better. Gioia you rock. You are the DIVA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"This lady never ceases to amaze! I had no idea that she had a CD out until I saw it last Saturday at one of the local record stores. I bought it, and was absolutely surprised by how great it is! Gioia's voice has matured so much since her days with Expose. It is a lot clearer and deeper than before. The music behind her is also amazing. Gioia has definitely come into her own as one of 2004's premier dance divas! Best tracks on this CD are BE MINE and definitely BARELY BREATHING (a destined club classic!). Now, when will Jeanette and Ann do their comeback albums? One can hope for soon...but until then...we will just enjoy Gioia's great outing! :)"
Terrific Album

"Gioia
Today I went to Dearborn Music (our local record store) and bought Gioia's new cd. They had one copy and it was listed in their inventory as "From The Inside". I had told the clerk the album was titled "Expose This".
As we already know the CD cover says "Expose This" and the plastic seal which keeps the cd closed has "From This Inside" printed on it.
The CD has 14 tracks. IMHO listed below are the 4 strongest songs (with the greatest potential to be released as singles from the album) in descending order:
"I Was Made For Loving You"
All I can say is that I love this track the best. First released in 1979 by KISS -- this track is hot. The song transcends time due to the awesome writing skills of Desmond Childs (credits include songs for Cher, Michael Bolton, etc.), KISS member Paul Stanley, and Vincent Poncia Jr.
I wished she would have released this as the first single - "Be Mine" is okay, but doesn't stand out or have the power and strength that "I Was Made For Loving You" has. Congratulations to producers Charlie Pennachio and Drew Sessa for doing an excellent job on this song.
"Barely Breathing"
When I saw the title "Barely Breathing" for a split second I had wondered if this was a cover of the 1996 song by Duncan Sheik. However, this song was written and produced by Peter Lorimer and is totally different.
I love this song also. I can see it being big at the clubs and being played during the middle of the night once everyone is dancing. The vocals are secondary as the beat dominates this song.
"I Can Feel You"
Written by Suzanne Smith and produced by Guiseppe D. The strength of this song is the lyrics and the vocals - magnificent. Completely on the opposite end of the spectrum from "Barely Breathing".
"Going Going Gone"
Great song - reminds me of something Cher would do - the song has a great beat with same pitch distortion used in recent Cher songs. This song stands out since it was written by Gordon Pagoda and produced by Mauro Desantis - the only song on the album he worked on.
I love the album and it's definitely worth the money. What makes this album great is that Gioia has included songs that she wrote as well as songs from other great writers. In addition, she worked with six different producers to really diversify the album.
