Synopsis
Album Description 2007 digitally remastered and expanded edition of this early '60s album from the underrated female Pop singer. This CD contains her entire debut album and all of the non-album MGM singles that Ginny recorded during the halcyon days of 1963>1965. The package also includes a full-colour booklet, positively bursting with label-repros and some highly-informative and entertaining notes by genre expert Mick Patrick. Ginny Arnell isn't exactly a household name among girl group acts in the manner of, say Lesley Gore or the Chiffons but she certainly left her mark on the field with several songs, most notably 'Dumbhead' and 'I Wish I Knew What Dress to Wear', both of which remain classics of this charming genre. We If you are a STEREO buff like I am. You'll want to get the Marginal second. The cd is an origianl LP rip with only one flaw... the high pitch is very low causing a slight muffled effect but not to cause a distraction away from the songs. The marginal CD also contains a few Decca releases BEFORE Ginny Arnell signed up with MGM. There is no booklet or any info that you might want on the... Poker release... Track Listings 1. There is a biography on Ginny herself and a discography on her recording career! Very good read and photos of her picture sleeves from us and asia. This cd also includes "I'm Crying Too", her first MGM release not on the marginal cd, a wonderful tune that was sadly neglected in the charts. It was big in the northeast area but it was take "Dumbhead" and its kazoos to make the charts in the top 100. Hey you just can't beat kazoos!!! So buy both, don't wait! The Ginny Arnell collections are a must! Larry Guidry " |
