CD Reviews

10 years old, still better than the majority.

(5 out of 5 stars)

"I don't feel the need to justify the 5 star rating based solely on the music, you can find that on the original 1999 release page. This review will focus on the bonus material. First, the 7 demos from the 1999 recording session are fabulous. While the songs mostly similar to their final versions, there are significant arrangement and lyrical differences, especially with "Valentine" and "Holiday". Don't try to sing along the first time you listen to it. The track listing of the demos is..

1. Forgive and Forget

2. Red Letter Day

3. Close To Home

4. VFW (later renamed Central Standard Time, released on Eudora)

5. My Apology

6. Holiday

7. Valentine

Next, the DVD is nothing short of amazing. It is currently streaming on their myspace, but a physical copy of it is a must. The video is professionally captured, and just looks and sounds amazing. A perfect addition to any Get Up Kids fan who hasn't had the privileged of seeing them live, or for the lucky ones who have witnessed them live.

Overall this is a great special edition, and well worth the money, even if you have bought this album many times before.

"Their music never gets old, they're one of the best indie band in the 90s and then now. Can't believe I missed them during the times I was growing up. I'm glad they reunited and reissuing this great album. This is highly recommended for music fans that likes the 90s indie punk rock. They're still awesome today."
