Hellhounds Greatest Hits
Tony Montana | Atlanta | 10/07/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"For those of you like me who thought the Hellhounds (the Sats minus Dan Baird, sorry Dan) were a better band than the Georgia Satellites, this is the record for you. It's basically covers played like they owned 'em, which is the way a cover song should come across, right? This record smokes from the first track. "Hand to Mouth" is one of the great Satellites songs - it should have been a hit. I bought the same record as an import from Denmark a few years ago. Glad to see it's easier to get now. Pick it up!"
Rebuttal to: " At their best the Satellites"

"I haven't purchased this album, yet. But, just by the song selection I know it can't possibly be a flop. And I will purchase it soon along with the others. Mind you I do have some these on vinyl but, I want the CD quality. At their best the Satellites were not,"just a good rock and roll band." I saw the Satellites at a bar (Joseph's Foodliner) in San Antonio, Texas(now closed too bad, they need more bars like that)and the these guys were great. Razor sharp guitar works great rythym section and witty words. And sad to say I paid a buck to see these guys along w/ Jason and the Scorchers, what a shame. I may not be rebel (Southerner)but, I tell you what I am sold on these guys to bad we don't get anymore straight from the hip rock and roll bands like this one."
No kidding

"I saw these guys twice in the late 80's, and at their worst, the Satellites were one of the best pure rock 'n' roll bands of all time. Certainly no other 80's band rocked like they did."
