Synopsis

Album Description
Mike Myers is back in the summerof 2008 in the film The Love Guru, his first original character since Austin Powers. Co-starring Jessica Alba and Justin Timberlake, The Love Guru follows the journey of Pitka, (Myers) a love guru who returns to America to seek fame and fortune in the world of self-help and spirituality. His unorthodox methods are put to the test when he must settle a rift between Toronto Maple Leafs star hockey player Darren Roanoke and his estranged wife. Roanoke's wife starts dating L.A. Kings star Jacques Grande (Timberlake) out of revenge, sending her husband into a major professional skid. Pitka must return the couple to marital nirvana and get Roanoke back on his game so the team can break the 40-year-old Bullard Curse and in the Stanley Cup.

CD Reviews

'The Love Guru' (Lakeshore) - Original Soundtrack
Mike Reed | USA | 07/11/2008
(3 out of 5 stars)

"Don't usually go for many movie soundtracks, but this one of Mike Myer's 'The Love Guru' barely makes my 'must listen to' list. It's okay and all, but nothing to get too stoked about. Liked the {too short} forty-second psychedelic intro "Morning Meditation", Brimful Of Asha's catchy "Cornershop", Mike Myers covering Steve Miller Band's "The Joker", Thelma Hopkin's soulful "Lead Me To Your Rock" and Danny Sabar's contribution of "Sabar" {featuring some good sitar playing}."
