"This is an outstanding set, with an excellent and interesting selection of tunes, performances that reward repeated listening, and excellent sound. I have listened to this several times, and I cannot hear the noises noted by the other reviewer. Anyone who enjoys Keith Jarrett or Glenn Gould will find any extraneous noise quite minimal. In any case, I recommend this to you. Other George Cables recordings are typically excellent as well."

Jazz in a new world

"I first came across George while listening to my local NPR station. I liked the track morning song and decided to buy the album. The music is quite good and Georges abilities on the piano are really incredible. His music reminds me of the Jazz of yesterday, with a touch of new jazz influence. The only issue I had with the recording is that on some tracks (most notably on Morning Song). There is an audible noise, almost like someone humming or talking, but in time with the piano. It may just be the sound his particular piano makes but, the sound does tend to distract one from the music.
