CD Reviews

Smooth guitar jazz.
John W. Fischer | Hyde Park, NY | 04/01/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Anyone who has listened to Gene's previous albums will be able to look on this one as a CD that you can put on the stereo and leave on 'repeat' all evening. All of Gene's usual technical and arranging prowess are evident, but it's even smoother than the albums before. I heartily suggest that you pick up this album and listen to it in the car during bad traffic. It will see you through those difficult times."
Beautiful acoustic guitar ballads and nocturnes
Duncan Clark | Pittsburgh, PA USA | 11/11/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This recording includes both solo acoustic guitar tracks and trio tracks that clearly feature the guitar track in the musical structure and recording technique. While ideal for late night listening and appropriately titled Acoustic Romance, this is top-notch music any time of day. I wouldn't label this smooth jazz because that term has negative connotations for me, including mechanical drum machine tracks, cheezy sounding synthesizers, and weak compositions. There is none of that here. This became an instant favorite for me."
