"Keyboard diva Gail Jhonson's latest CD, PEARLS is a winner, kicking it up a notch from her impressive KEEP THE MUSIC PLAYING release I wrote to you so enthusiastically about three years ago. The music director for Norman Brown's Summer Storm tour has created another sparkling jewel of an album, combining the best and most compelling of those elements from which Smooth Jazz hits are made. Lyrical melodies, entrancing grooves and top drawer supporting players are all in place, including guest artists Marion Meadows (featured on the disc's first hit single, "Pearls"), Nelson Braxton, Pieces of a Dream's James Lloyd, Paul Brown, and of course Norman Brown. This pretty Philadelphia native, now based in L.A., is a savvy player, knows what works for this genre of music, and delivers it yet again in her signature, first-class style on a dozen original compositions... both from Gail and the members of her team. In addition to the single, some other tracks that have caught my ear include the lovely "Pacific Breeze," featuring Nelson, the hooky "Feel Good Groove," the pretty ballad "Miles Away," and the delightful "Soleh," featuring Norman's primo guitar work. Just as with her previous disc, Gail Jhonson's PEARLS shows once again that this talented musician and author of "Funky Keyboards" and the "Dictionary of Keyboard Grooves" can walk her talk and deliver another masterpiece! ~SCOTT O'BRIEN"

"Gail's muisc is simply breathtaking. She has a very unique flair and rhythm in the way she plays the keyboards. Gail is right up there with the best smooth jazz keyboardists in the industry. Purchase this CD. You will not regret it."
