CD Reviews

Gackt does it again..

"'Vanilla' was the song that first introduced me to the wonder that is Gackt, and I am forever grateful. I have several friends who would CONSTANTLY sing this, and finally I broke down and listened to it. All I could think was "WHAT TOOK ME SO LONG?!" You too will find yourself humming and chanting this song constantly (which is by no means a bad thing). As the other review pointed out, even though he sounds like a lounge lizard in the acoustic version, you'll still love it. However.. Gackt seems to be a lot more favored by females than males, so if you're a guy, you might not have the same fangirlish squeals of joy. ^_- All in all, pick up a copy of this CD, and be prepared to love it.(It sure helps that Gackt is as adorable as he is.. the live MARS concert video of this song is QUITE a sight to see.. let's just say that the lyrics of this song are used to put on a show for the legions of fans. :)"
Vanilla is an AWESOME song!

"This CD is great! Vanilla is one of my FAVORITE Gackt songs! Vanilla is upbeat and pop-ish. The instrumental version is great for kareoke...but my favorite track is Vanilla Night Version. It's unplugged and it's wonderful! Gackt sounds like a lounge singer almost, but it's just so great! This is an awesome buy! I highly recommend it!"
A change in style

"After leaving Malice Mizer Gackt Camui music style changed drastically, although with the Rebirth Album his music still had a JRock style to it...he has most definitely changed again with Vanilla, for a more JPop sound...not that this isn't brilliant song. The lyrics are both beautiful and naughty. This song may be a shock to many devoted Gackt fans...but I think they'll find this song a real treat."
