Fuxa's best work yet

(5 out of 5 stars)

"I was a little worried that 'supercharged' was going to be a meandering, experimental jaunt into the world of Randall Nieman's "unexplained transmissions". Well, there are unexplained transmissions as any Fuxa fan should know, however they are not so much experimental to where you loose interest after a few minutes. Rather you will find finely crafted songs delicate in composition, melodic in nature, and engaging in spirit. One noticable thing on 'supercharged' are the vocals of Telescopes personnel Steven Lawrie and Jo Doran on the opening track 'hide away', a rather soothing start to even more soothing songs to come. The drumming on this album is perfect, light, crisp, and simple- beats layed down produce a subtle and head bobbing groove. Acoustic guitar and assorted analog keyboard passages move along smoothly and effortlessly. 'Supercharged' is a fine release by Fuxa, it will probably be the most soothing and relaxing thing you'll hear all year. "Unexplained transmissions" indeed!"
