Album Description After a five year absence the Future Sound of London are back with the re-release of the classic 1992 album 'Accelerator' along with a 10 track bonus CD, known as the 'Papua New Guinea Mix Anthology', which includes six new mixes of 'Papua New Guinea' including mixes from Hybrid & Satoshi Tomie as well as the 1992 Andy Weatherall 'producers cut' mix which has never been released before, in it's entirety. People who have first heard Future Sound of London's later phases of dub, noise, and psychedelic electro will find this as kind of a shock, but it's almost a continuous technofest. Here and there the deep, thick sonic soundscape mixes over the beats that hint at what would come later. But for the most part, it's straight infectious dance music that's a little dated but is still a quality work. "Papua New Guinea" is the most well known track but the rest is hardly filler. The whole thing still stands up well, even over a decade later."
