CD Reviews

Furious - Breaking Point
Constant | Vancouver, BC Canada | 12/15/2005
(3 out of 5 stars)

"Furious album "Breaking Point" (2005) dropped last month. This Bay Area artist is still virtually unknown to the commercial Rap scene, this is his 4th album. After a brief intro Furious gets things started with "One Shot", showing his hunger to make it. E-40 and Stres of The Federation drop in for the bouncy "Take You Down", then Furious talks to an ex on "Out Of My Mind". The Game makes an appearance on the lackluster "We Rock More". Furious gets introspective on "Where Do I Go", then delivers some "History" taking it from the 70's back. A number of average tracks follow, then San Quinn and Furious collab for the laidback "Round Da World". Furious goes deeper on "Survive", then collabs with Blue Chip for "Blood In Blood Out" a track dedicated to his boys. My favourite track is the closer "Remember" feat. Planet Asia & Ghazi, a throwback type track, where Furious talks about his birth, and growing up. This seems like one of those sleeper albums that no even takes the time to review. Its a decent release, personally I find the club tracks repetitive, and some of the production bland. Overall I give "Breaking Point" a passing grade. 2.5.
