"This was, IMHO, the defining album of a fledgling musical style to be known as, I hate to say it too, "light" jazz. This album seems to rate in the top ten of all of their albums to its owners, genre-independently. If only the spirit of this band and some of their great contemporaries (Lorber, Grover, Sanborn, and many more)could have been nurtured throughout the "light" jazz movement, there'd be a whole lot fewer detractors and many more enthusiasts."
