Ovalesque Analogue Nod-n-Dance Music

"I listened to Markus Popp scratch and mutate the sounds of cds on his releases as Oval for over a year before even looking for other people working in this new territory. Since then, I've found Tone-Rec, Neina, Microstoria, and Vote Robot. All fine pureveyors of click and hum space age trance music. Each has thier own take and French Paddleboat goes for a continuous upbeat vibe, with lots of bell tones and other non-sampler based sounds. Words are failing me here, but if you like Oval or any of the other bands I listed, consider this essential. It is surprisingly accessable and bears repeated listening. I think this one man show is 1/2 of the band Vote Robot. Enjoy."
