Great Mistake
Eric Laderer | Ft. Myers, FL United States | 06/25/2002

"I was in the Northberg Tavern in Columbus Ohio so I could see my friends' band, "Overflow," play. I got a bit tipsy and started haning out after they went my friends went off. I didn't know who was playing after them, but it was some band with a wierd name that played some sort of funk music.
My buddies bought me a beer so I stayed around. Freekbass walked on to the small stage all dressed up (one guy had a silver face, another had a wierd guitar - it looked like a circus side show). Then they started to play...
I have never been so impressed with a band than that night. Since then I have seen them play in Columbus several times and Cleveland a couple of times. I wouldn't miss a show for the world. I moved to Florida, so I haven't seen them lately, but if they ever do come around I'll be the first to buy tickets.
Great band, great album. You can't go wrong with Freekbass."
It's 'Duty For Your Booty' Time!

"Bootsy Collins' protege FreekBass really gets off on this one! Although I found FreekBass first album a little predictable, this one really sets the pace or to put it more clearly: 'BODY OVER MIND' TEARS THE ROOF OFF THE MUTHA!! It's all good, nastay (P-)funk, and tracks like 'Hear Me Play', 'Mission', 'Baby Baby', and especially 'FreekBass 2YK' just have to be played over and over again and preferably very loud! Yep, FreekBass' mix of electronic dance funk just makes you hungry for more from this very talented bassplayer and his very talented band. 'Nuff said!"

"well bootsy's back but you won't hear him sing much, but hey if you miss his thumping licks-this is the p-funk cd for you, i like how the funk keep on coming, and coming told you funk was not dead yet, freekbass proves to hold his own a must have for bootsy space bass fans, adds a little bit of zapp, and jb's-hell catfish, and mudbone even does cameo's hope it's not too funky for ya'll backstreet fans."
