Sprightly, gorgeous Haydn

"Why can't all recordings of Haydn quartets be this good? The Hagen quartet has a light, sprightly approach coupled with gorgeous sound. The quartets are rendered with ebullience and precision. Stylish yet classic, these are performances to be reveled in. Just listening to them makes my day brighter. It is a bit expensive but there is nothing of the quotidian about this Haydn."
