INCLUDES WORLD PREMIERE RECORDINGS!!! Born in 1956, Luca Francesconi is one of Italy?s leading living composers, and these are the premiere recordings of two of his most recent works. Francesconi has written over 50 works, many on commission from major musical and broadcasting entities, ranging from solo instrumentals to large orchestra pieces and operas. He teaches at the Milan Conservatory. Cobalt Scarlet was inspired by the composer?s view of the light of dawn through his hotel window in Oslo, Norway. Rest explores the modern voice of the cello and was written in memory of, and tribute to, Luciano Berio.
