CD ReviewsA major discovery! 05/24/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "Pollet has a rich, dramatic, truly beautiful voice that is unusual in a French opera singer. In diction and interpretive skills the French are among the best, and Pollet is also a credit to this tradition. I purchased this CD on impulse, but it has become one of my favorites in a large collection. While the Verdi singing is splendid, the popular songs on this program are the real surprise. Pollet does not adopt a "pop style," yet her singing transcends styles or categories. She reveals unanticipated beauties, making these familiar tunes as radiant as the art songs of Schubert."
