"Fourth in the "Found In The Attic" series of collections of little-know (some with good reason) tunes from the late 50s and early 60s pop era. There are a few top-100 "hits" here such as Mongo Santa Maria's "El Pussy Cat", Bobby Hamilton's "Crazy Eyes For You" (an impossible-to-find top 40 hit in '58) and the Valiants' "This Is The Night". Other tracks include non-charting singles and some album-only cuts. Among the more interesting sides is the Crystals' "(Dance) The Screw" that never charted and could not have given the title and the era. As with others in the series, sound quality is sometimes acceptable, sometimes marginal. Many tracks are obvious disc dubs from some fairly well-worn vinyl with notable distortion and surface noise. A few tracks (6, 18, 19, 22 and 23) taken from stereo lps sound reasonably OK. There are no liner notes inside other than a relisting of the disc contents and a disclaimer that tracks have been transfered from tape and vinyl sources. This is not a disc to buy if you're looking for a collection of recognizable music of the era but more for those seeking some particular tunes that just aren't available elsewhere and may never be."
