"Maybe someone with a better ear than mine can find something I missed, but I thought that these performances were flawless. What distinguishes these recordings of these pieces-three standards and one unusual (the Wolf serenade)-is the high level of energy and sparkle. If you are looking for some bland background music, you should probably try something else. This recording is one of a series of new quartets of young artists that EMI is promoting through its Classical Debut Series. At this price this CD is a great bargain besides. Hopefully EMI will give us some more great recordings from this talented quartet."

"I had the good fortune of hearing the Formosa Quartet last summer in an intimate setting (Music Mountain in Falls Village, CT), and the experience was transforming. This CD nearly has the same effect -- it is nearly flawless. Highly recommended addition to any classical library."
