Synopsis

Product Description
Fordirelifesake formed in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan as a side project band of Mycomplex (Headhunter/ Cargo), Bottomed Out (Filthy Stinkin ) and Resound. As those bands began to slow down, Fordirelifesake gained momentum and immediately took over as the full time band for each member. They began playing many shows around their home town and quickly became an immediate sensation. In August of 2000 Fordirelifesake recorded their debut CDEP, releasing it themselves. In support of the CDEP, they played locally with bands like Poison The Well, Walls of Jericho, The Suicide Machines, New Found Glory, Waterdown, Blue Skies Burning, Grade, and Keepsake, each time gaining more local fans. They also began playing many weekend shows out of state to gain a following in surrounding areas like Milwaukee, Chicago, New York, and Windsor, Ontario. To capitalize on the success of their CDEP, they went back into the studio to record a split CD with fellow Michigan band, Wafflehouse* and released by Forge Again. Once again the band hit the road, traveling down the East Coast and back, playing alongside skycamefalling, Fairweather, and Thursday. At the end of their tour, their split CD had sold extremely well, and their CDEP, almost out of stock, was ready to be repressed. Pleased with their earlier work, the band decided to allow Forge Again to repress their CDEP and it came out great. In late 2001, Fordirelifesake went into the studio to record their debut full length, "Breathing in is Only Half the Function." It was released in early 2002 on Cloud Over Head Records and went out of print later that same year. Fordirelifesake decided it was time to switch the album to another label and with better distribution that was willing to work harder, release the album on vinyl. Not content merely to re-release the album, Forge Again insisted on completely remixing, remastering, and creating brand new art for it. When Fordirelifesake hit the studio to remix the album, a file error had erased a lot of the master tracks, allowing them an opportunity to re-record a lot of the vocal and guitar tracks they were unhappy with. The new artwork for both the CD and LP was done by Phil @ Apt 13, who had also just completed the artwork for the Fordirelifesake/Deluge split CD on Thorp Records/Skipworth Records. In addition to the re-release of the full length and the split CD with Deluge, Fordirelifesake also released a split 7" with Hewhocorrupts as part of the Forge Again Records split 7" series.
