This is an intriguing set that finds singer Flora Purim joined by a rather large Brazilian fusion rhythm section, altoist David Sanborn, Joe Farrell (on tenor, soprano and flute) and trumpeter Jeff Elliot. Although none of the new originals are overly memorable, the music has plenty of spirit, and Purim (who as usual is assisted by her percussionist husband Airto) is in excellent form. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
