Synopsis

Album Description
Firebird was born in 1999, the brainchild of guitarist and singer Bill Steer. A far cry from the mayhem he created as a co-founder of Death Metal/Grindcore legends Napalm Death and Carcass, Steer's Firebird is associated with classic, bluesy hard Rock, the kind of music that hasn?t been heard on British soil (or anywhere else, for that matter) since the early seventies. If you?re wondering about garage rock, the stoner scene or "retro", think again, Firebird isn?t part of anybody else?s thing. Firebird is simply one of the most rewarding rock experiences of the year! "Bill Steer is one of the most obscenely talented guitarists of his generation" - Kerrang!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Bill steer keeps on being and amazing guy, No.3 as the name indicates is the third deliver from this stoner rock power trio and this time the sound that offers is even more easy to assimilate to non metal audiences, rock n roll has been accoring to Steer his "first love" not metal, therefore the possible negative critics (so far none) to Steer work and his new musical direction wouldnt be valid at all, some sort of pop touch can be appreciated here, tracks like "cross the line" and "stooned believer" could have been wrotten in the 70s and the difference never would be noticed so the formula actually worked out, the sound is deligthfull, kinnda progresive, very well oriented.

Note: days ago i heard about an interesting new, Steer band mate Jeff Walker (former Carcass, bass and vocals)is currently working on a country and blues album with some Metal angle, influences goes from Johnny Cash to John Denver, with the collaboration of members from HIM, Amorphis, Bill Steer and possibly Faith No More Billy Gould and Cathedral Lee Dorrian, sounds interesting???? I know it does!!!, and i cant wait to have that album in my hands and wrotte about it in this site.
