CD Reviews

Best 15 album since their "Choice of a New Generation"

"Jeff Ott is one of the most hated/loved personalities in punk rock today. He is either viewed as the inspirational voice of the oppressed, homeless and abused or the an insincere oppurtunist, manipulator, user and fraud. I personally have found a great deal of value in what he has to say and frankly sincere or not at the very least his words will cause to think and maybe open your eyes. Anyway none of this tells you what to expect from this album so lets get to the review. This is easily the most punk 15 have sounded since thier amazing "Choice of a New Generation". The guitars are loud and fairly aggresive with an absolute minimum of Hendrixesque wanking (something that has been my major gripe with the last few releases). "Survivor" is a brillant farewell to a band that has been a punk institution since the late '80s breakup of the great CRIMPSHRINE. Jeff may not continue making records or touring the country but he definitely left on a high note....Now for the sympathy vote, this album is also a benefit for "Prison Radio" which an organization that exist to "challenge mass incarceration and racism by airing the voices of men and women in prison" (quote taken from the essay "Toward Justice and Freedom" included in the CD booklet). I think it should be obvious to everyone that our legal system is flawed and should be questioned, open your eyes and get informed!"
GOOD but fifteen is getting to be just HIPPY MUSIC.

"I like fifteen, there good. but this album just mostly talks about jeff's family and stuff. as time goes by the albums begin to be more liberal. They also make fun of punkers in this album, but through all that i've said being an ANTI-FLAG punk rocker its still a good album from there hearts."
Not the best FIFTEEN album

"I'll just say this....if you are new to "Fifteen" and want to check out one of their C.D's don't buy this one. The best one by far is "Swains First Bike Ride". Aside from a few random good songs the other albums aren't that great. I've known this band personally since inception and even during the Crimpshrine days and if you want their(jeff's)best music in my humble opinion then buy the "Swain" album."
