In 2008 Fernandez & Wright walked into the studio and over two days essentially tracked the entire album with some of Australia's finest jazz musicians at their service. When you hear the album, it is like you are in a live venue because each song was recorded with the band playing together in the same room. To let you in on a secret, there was only one band rehearsal for the album, a whole three months before recording it in the studio! The band featured on 'Unsung', includes Vanessa on vocals, Steve on electric and acoustic guitars, Sam Keevers on piano and rhodes, Ben Robertson on double bass, Dave Beck on drums, Alex Pertout on percussion and Chong Lim on the hammond. Friend and music professional, Rick Formosa, fulfilled the role of co-producer, and Doug Brady recorded and mixed the album at Armstrong Studios. The album was mastered by Jonathan Z at Dex Audio and its photography taken by Kim Tonelli. You get the whole package with Fernandez & Wright. When like-minded individuals connect, a unique creativity is born with a fluid result like 'Unsung'.
