"It is true! Felipe Rodriguez also known as "La Voz" (THE VOICE), was the most underrated singer ever. I grew up listening to his beautiful voice and I couldn't help but fall in love with him. The song arrangements are a bit different in this album in comparison to the original versions. Still, Felipe sounds great and brings the full amount of soul with his rather emotional singing. I love the guitar arrangements which are very unusual (in comparison to today's music). Most of the songs deal with a great deal of sorrow and equal amounts of drinking. Some of the songs are so overly dramatic, they become quite comical in their seriousness. Listen to "Copas y Amigos" (Drinks and Friends) in which poor Felipe makes the wrong decision by following his heart instead of staying at the bar with his friends. Others like "La Cama Vacia" (The Empty Bed) give me goosebumps for its morbidly shocking last words. Yes, Felipe's songs can be campy at times but his voice is so amazingly good, the combination makes this album worth the small price. Put this CD in your car the next time you take a drive through Puerto Rico's mountains."
