CD Reviews

Very interesting
Benjamin Norman | Washington DC | 06/14/2006
(4 out of 5 stars)

"This proves to be a good buy, if you are in the market for a variety of interesting Fatboy Slim mixes. If you want remixes of the title track, you will be disappointed. Here is the tracklisting (and of course, my opinions on each track).

1. That Old Pair of Jeans

Eh, a fairly forgettable song from Norman Cook, sort of like Praise You only mellower.

2. Right Here Right Now (Freemasons Club Mix)

If there was ever a reason to buy a single, this is it. The Freemasons have been getting better and better, and this is a great version of a classic electronic song. A+

3. Praise You (Adrock and Mike D Remix)

This isn't the only place to find this remix. It is very hip-hoppish, still only using the lyrics from the original but backed with production from 2/3rds of the Beastie Boys. A truly different direction for a normally feel-good summer song.

4. Everybody Needs A 303 (Plump DJs Mix)

The breakbeat connoiseurs give their touch to this song, taking it in a direction that isn't toooo far from the original but enough to make it interesting.

5. Right Here Right Now (Redanka's 66 Vocal Remix)

An interesting choice. It is a progressive, extended mix of the original. I didn't hear too much variation, but a good listen nonetheless.

Summary? Freemasons + Fatboy Slim = YES!"
