"hmm... For starters, this band rocks. I bought the album in February and I've been listening to it consistently ever since. Far Rad are two young guys from Chicago. Their music is simple synth-pop, with a slight punk influence and a slightly lo-fi sound, and the lyrics are silly but that's part of the charm.... OK, I'm being just way too stuffy here. This album is loaded with crazy, nutty energy. If you want a great, catchy synth-dance album with great melodies, if you think songs about Beetlejuice costumes (spelled different for copyright reasons I assume), Mike Tyson's Punch Out and dancing like a maniac in a basement sound fun, this album is for you. Think Depeche Mode + Felix + Pere Ubu + twee silliness and that's the basic sound of the album. At the half-way point of the year, this is my pick for best album of 2005... oh, and they rocked my ass off when I saw them live too."
