From the warm, familiar strains of Danny Kaye singing "Inchworm" from his 1952 film Hans Christian Andersen to Shirley Temple's enchanting "Goodnight, My Love," these tender tracks can soothe the most troubled soul. Burl Ives's "Lavender Blue" is sweet, but not too sweet, and Peggy Lee's gentle "La La Lu" (from Lady and the Tramp) will touch any new mother's heart.
