CD Reviews

Frank Patterson & Regina Nathan shine in sacred concert
mack@n2music.com | Lincoln, NE | 05/25/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"You don't have to be Irish to enjoy this wonderful sacred concert featuring music, old and new, of the Roman Catholic faith. Presented a few years back, it features Frank Patterson, long recognized as today's most-renowned Irish tenor, and soprano sensation Regina Nathan. What voices! Add to them RTE Cor na nOg, the famed Monks of Glenstal Abbey, the Irish Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus, Iarla O'Lionaird, Ros Ni Dhubhain and Tommy Keane, and this is truly a night of heavenly music! 23 selections in all; some familiar, many not. But it won't matter once you get into the perfect mood this concert sets. Tastefully filmed at the Point Theatre in Dublin, with great camera work and terrific sound, I can't recommend this video highly enough!"
"THE GREATEST HYMN OF LOVE!"
Richard J. Clifford | Milton, Mass., USA | 07/13/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Myself being an Irish-American Catholic, this wonderful concert which the late, great Frank Patterson & Regina Nathan did with the Irish Philharmonic Orchestra & Chorus and so many guest soloists is without question a stirring ode to the Irish Catholic experience! The hymns, sung in English, Latin & Gaelic are the most stunning ever. The glorious chant of the Monks of the Cisterian Abbey in Ireland set the mood and joy for this wonderful salute to these classic religious hymns. With the return of the Latin Mass in modern society, these anthems deserve another listen to. You have got to get this for yourself; it's the greatest hymn of love ever presented! It's no wonder this concert, based on Ireland's most loved and best selling albums ever, is worth your purchase price!"
