Synopsis

Album Description
In three connected movements, 'Fade' collects a series of harmonic "moments" of varying densities, complexities, timbres and lengths. Throughout the work, these moments ? like elements in a mobile ? are in a constant state of changing perspective. Composer Rick Cox is a composer/multi-instrumentalist whom guitarist/composer Ry Cooder called "the hidden master of the crepuscular and the diaphanous." Cox was an early explorer/developer of "prepared electric guitar" techniques, and his concert pieces often employ himself (electric guitar, woodwinds, and electronics) in the company of other instrumentalists. He performs and records with Jon Hassel and his unique sounds are heard on many of Thomas Newman?s popular film scores.
