Synopsis

Product Description
Reich grew up in New York City has been performing and recording under his own name since 2002. Reich's music has been described as a rock and roll melding of the 1980's and the 1950's, like drinking a malted milk at a disco, or hula-hooping in between Pac-Man tournaments. Initially drawing influences from folk and Americana, Ezra Reich's music evolved into song oriented elecro-pop with the self-release of his first album "Freeze the Night" in the spring of 2003. Reich's love of vintage synths is apparent in both his production value and in his live show (which utilizes a 1983 Juno-60 and two Synare's, the first ever drum triggers from the 70s). "Freeze the Night," is loaded with synthesizers and choppy guitars, while the content deals with broken love. Reich has often times been called a romantic, and on "Freeze the Night", this is apparent, although this particular set of tunes deal with the loss of love rather than it's gaining. Often musically compared to a contemporary mix of David Bowie, Bryan Ferry, The Cars, Roy Orbison, and David Byrne, with a smattering of Prince and the Ronnettes, Reich's visual imagery and style are informed as much by the cinema of David Lynch, the paintings of James Rosenquist, and the photography of Helmut Newton. And imagery is important to Reich's art. His music has been called New Wave Cabaret and there is certainly a fun and epic theatrical quality to both his live show and recordings
