Synopsis

Album Description
The Layover features six all new tracks from Evidence, as well a DVD featuring the first full video collaboration between Jason Goldwatch and Evidence focusing on the theme of The Layover. The long-standing relationship between the two have created some of Hip Hop's most classic videos, including videos for Evidence's 'Mr. Slow Flow', and for Dilated Peoples' 'Back Again', 'Worst Come To Worst' and 'Work The Angles'. One third of the influential LA Hip-Hop group Dilated Peoples. Evidence masterfully launched his solo career last year with his debut solo album, The Weatherman.

CD Reviews

Yet again, Evidence puts out some amazing work!

"The Layover is an amazing, 10 track EP. Just like the Weatherman LP, this cd delivers with some phenomenal songs, from start to finish there are no disappointments.Far Left and To Be Determined are my favorite songs of the EP but the rest of the cd is 10 out of 10, every song is incredible. If you are contemplating buying this cd, don't hesitate and buy it right now, if you liked the Weatherman LP or Dilated, don't even think about it and just buy it. Keep it coming, Ev!"

"I appreciate artists adding DVD material in the package.

I went out to Cali last year and now understand a little of the vibe that comes out in this song (especially Step Brothers). EV is not worried about iTunes, Billboard, or any other fake industry measure in Hip Hop today. The Krondon joint is the only one I could not add to my playlist.

The fact that EV put the Chase the Clouds away video in the DVD made it more sweet. I still bump the Weatherman!"
One of the top realeases of 2008

"This is one of the top hip hop releases of 2008. Really diverse selection of beats from various producers (including Ev, Alchemist, Khrysis, Sid Roams & Babu) and guest appearances from the West's finest. Ev does what he does on the mic pretty well. My favorite is the Far Left featuring Alchemist & Fashawn - dope Alchemist beat, and the cadence of this song is crazy. I don't even rhyme and I wanted to write lyrics to this beat with the same cadence - the song is that dope. Buy the CD/DVD combo because it's cheaper than the MP3 download, plus you get the bonus DVD with all the videos."
