Synopsis

Album Description
"The Camerata de las Américas is a top-notch group of players who sound as if they've been playing this repertoire forever (showing incredible tightness and focused sound), but also as if they are still completely entranced by the many charms of this music." -ClassicsToday Eugenio Toussaint is a unique figure on Mexico's music scene, a splendid composer and orchestrator, a dazzling jazzman and pianist with international accolades; he has toured the world over with numerous pop stars. His concert music has been featured in leading contemporary music festivals. His ballet Días de los Muertos (Days of the Dead), deeply rooted in Mexican folklore, was written for the Arizona Ballet and is full of music as personal as it is intense and engaging. The music for this ballet is dedicated to the great Mexican choreographer Guillermo Arriaga. Camerata de las Américas, an instrumental ensemble based in Mexico, is dedicated to the search, performance and recording of music for small orchestra written in the Americas during the twentieth century. Beautifully slipcased with an illustrated booklet in English, Spanish, French and German.
