"I was led to this album because I love the bassoon and have become quite enamored of the excellent playing of the brilliant young bassoonist Karen Geoghegan. She has an amazing talent. I've never heard of Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari before, but very much enjoyed these well-played works. The thing I love about CHANDOS is that they record a lot of work from rather "obscure" composers rather than going back and re-recording the usual classics by well-known composers. No disrespect intended to Mozart, et al. I listen to plenty of their great works. But its a pleasant surprise to find these gems. CHANDOS delivers again and again."
