And A Delightful Crime It Is!!

"What an amazing gift Erika has - and you'll be glad she's shared it with the world. I stumbled across her music a few week back and it's been the sound track for my life ever since. "My Little Crime" is the second of her three CDs. The new one, "The New Orleans Sessions," just shipped in early October.Erika Luckett is a talented guitarist and a soulful vocalist - Tuck and Patti all rolled into one. And she's an even better songwriter and lyricist. Her lovely, lively, Latin-influenced guitar work is always interesting, clean, and perfectly matched to the material. Her vocals will open your heart and lift your spirit. And those intelligent and enchanting songs:
"Postcard From Graceland" - 'I'm missing you, but life is good.' Longing, but no self-pity here. And what a beat! "Besame" - Is this even legal? Perfectly captures that moment in a great relationship when love, lust and languor collide. Don't even think of listening to this without your sweetie close by. "Lunacy" - Cole Porter with a woman's touch. This ballad is a can't miss jazz standard.Erika also put together a great supporting cast for this CD - percussion, keyboards, horns tastefully arranged to enrich the songs but never overwhelm them.If there's any justice in life, Erika will be famous soon. Enjoy her now!!"

"Just had the pleasure of seeing/hearing Erika Luckett in person, and happy to say that this cd comes very close to capturing the soulful, passionate energy that is usually reserved for live performances. There's poetry in her lyrics and power in her guitar playing. You'll be singing "Postcard From Graceland" long after the song has ended, and you'll feel you understand Spanish when you hear "Besame."Get this one!"
