Synopsis

Product Description
When singer/songwriter/vocalist Eric Lindell first hit the national music scene with his 2006 Alligator Records debut CHANGE IN THE WEATHER, critics and fans alike celebrated the arrival of a roots rocker with dozens of unforgettable original songs. With his musical roots planted in Northern California, Lindell s music blossomed in New Orleans. His combination of sweet, blue-eyed soul with foot-stomping R&B, swamp pop, funk and blues have won him critical and popular acclaim across the country. As he toured the U.S., his fan base grew, and before long clubs and festivals were filled with happy, dancing people singing the words to every song. Now he s back with LOW ON CASH, RICH IN LOVE, a collection filled with solid grooves, insightful lyrics and one emotionally rich song after another.

Recorded at Piety Street Studio in New Orleans, LOW ON CASH, RICH IN LOVE will delight Lindell s fan base and will capture the attention of music lovers all over the globe. From the first single Lay Back Down to the undeniable groove of a totally reworked version of Gil Scott-Heron s Lady Day And John Coltrane (the album s sole cover song) to the New Orleans bounce of Tried And True, LOW ON CASH, RICH IN LOVE is Eric Lindell at his very best. His sinewy and soulful vocals recall 1970s Van Morrison, while his guitar and harmonica work are uniquely his own. With sweet saxophones punching in all the right places and grooves building on top of each other, Eric Lindell has created a timeless collection of songs.

CD Reviews

Great Stuff from Eric & Co Again!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Another great album from Eric. The Washington Post review of "Terrific, tasty rock 'n' soul with a New Orleans twist" is spot on...along with a soul-shaking, funky groove. If you are familiar with Eric's work, this a continuation of his quality work. If you're not, I would recommend getting Change in the Weather first as this is a compilation of his great smaller-label stuff. Once that has hooked you, you can continue the ride with Low on Cash....or just get both now, you will eventually order it anyway and will get the free shipping if you do it now!

"It's My Pleasure" is my favorite with its dead-on funky groove complimented by a couple of great guitar bridges. "Low on Cash" and "It's a Pity" are also great, funky Eric songs. I also really enjoy All Night Long, I Got a Girl, Josephine and pretty much the rest of the album. "Mind Your Business" and "Tried and True" are more in 60's soul style, which is less of my thing, but still good, quality songs.

Be sure to check him out live when he comes to town, his show is a awesome!"
Another winner from Eric.

"What a followup to "Changes in the Weather", wonderful music from start to finish. So many favorite songs, each one is so good it is hard to pick a favorite. Buy this music now if you do not have it, it is worth the purchase. Will not leave your cd rotation for awhile, it is that good."
Low on wow factor

"I must say I enjoyed Eric Lindell's "change in weather" better than this release. I think he has a got a good voice and very decent guitar skills. But this album seemed to lack inspiration. It was nothing that really held my attention it has 2 or 3 good songs, and then a few that just seems to be filler songs to make an album. I would like to see him live because I beet he puts on a good show. This cd I am suprised has not had more Radio play, but I still enjoy Change in Weather better."
