Synopsis

Album Description
Review by Roy Donga Translating to A Sky Full Of Stars For A Roof, the attractive artwork and graphics on this CD make it look exactly what it is; a classic score to a largely forgotten spaghetti western. Thankfully, John Mansell is on hand to provide some enlightening liner notes, revealing this to be a tale of two lonely drifters on the trail of a murderous gang of stagecoach robbers. Director Giulio Petroni's other collaborations with the maestro include the better known Death Rides A Horse and Tepepa, but most recently the director has turned to screenwriting for Queen Of The Damned.Beginning with Alessandro Alessandroni's trademark whistling, the 'Main title' it quickly moves into the immediately infectious main theme. Evoking the familiar style of banjo and guitars from The Good, The Bad & The Ugly and the rest of the "Dollar" trilogy, this is easily as memorable as Morricone's most famous works in the genre. So if you've over played all your Italian Western CDs, this could be the new melody you've been looking for. There's a handful of themes that provide the rest of the ingredients; the breezy cheerful friendship theme 'The Mermaid', some rowdy ragtime 'Street Dance', comedic slapstick 'Circus Tricks' and some traditional 'Saloon Piano'. But it is the recurring terrific main theme that you will continue to remember.
