"In my opinion this CD is one of the hidden treasures of CD recordings. I purchased it for the little known "The Banks of Green Willow" by Butterworth and what I got was 17 other pieces that were as enjoyable, or even better. Faure's music goes from a spritly "Ouverture" to a stately "Menuet", a lively "Gavotte" and a serene "Pastorale". The strings seem to talk to you in Elgar's "Night Song" and "Morning Song". Faure and Ravel's "Pavanes" are hauntingly beautiful. Add to these, selections from Delius, Warlock and Satie and you have some great easy listening music."
