CD Reviews

Classic Brazilian Slow Rock CD
enghaw | Maranhão, Brazil | 06/06/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"In his first playing-bass-CD, Humberto Gessinger (vocals) uses the bass a lot, showing that he is an beginner. But as a beginner, he takes the risk an does extremelly good evolutions, like the bass-drums song "Quem tem pressa não se interessa". A rare kind of song that was indicating the progressive path that the band followed through the years. "Infinita Highway", theyr best song, and "Terra de Gigantes" theyr 2nd best, are in this brazilian classic CD."
Excellent

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Very much in keeping with the same themes and moods that they touched on in their debut album, this work nevertheless is good, and oddly enough, not repetitive. Why did their same formula of instrumental minimalism, good guitar solos and deep lyrics not get old? For the same reason that chocolate is always a good dessert or because coffee is good in the mornings. Quite simply, their lyrics are just outstanding. Songs like Infinita Highway (The infinite Highway) and the title tracks are just so filled with symbolism, and hidden meanings that the listner can't help but wonder what they mean, and lyricist Humberto Gessinger seduces the listner into thinking.

Even if the buyer were to purchase this item for Engenheiros' epic song Infinita Highway, it would be worth it, but in this critic's view, the whole work is worth buying- a real must have."
