CD Reviews

Great B-Sides
Dustin J. Isenberg | Lancaster, PA | 01/16/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Wow whee, I can't even begin to explain how excited i was to get this cd. The only cd you can actually buy in stores in the U.S. is out of nothing so all the others i had to order. I am always ever so impressed each time i hear embrace just because they are always trying something new. The Dry Kids B-Sides cd is a pure example of this and is a definitive must have for any fans. It is a wonderful collection of songs, that you may either agree or disagree is better than their album songs but still holds true to the amazing spectactle that is EMBRACE. This band needs more attention than they're getting. And i wish they weren't always compared to Coldplay because i think they have two very different styles although both are amazing. Anyone who has followed them since they began, u will not be disappointed (especially like tracks such as "Shots Still Ringing,""Madelaine,""Dry Kids,""Butter Wouldn't Melt,""Maybe I Wish,""I've Been Running,"and "Waterfall"). This cd has everything, so if your a little skeptical (because it's labeled B-sides) just take a risk. You won't Be Disappointed. Some B-sides cds have the best work an artist can produce and this is one of them that proves true."
Fine Collection of Largely Unheard Embrace Gems

"I simply can't praise this band enough. Song after song, Embrace deliver some of the most beautiful and memorable melodies you've ever heard. Dry Kids is a collection of Embrace B-sides too good to be forgotten and relegated to hard-to-find and expensive (especially in the U.S.) UK singles. It's quite perplexing why some of these tracks were not used as A-sides, such as the glorious "Milk and Honey," the powerfully building "Maybe I Wish," or the warm, uplifting album closer, "Waterfall." It also has a few unique and surprising tracks, such as the cover of Eminem's "How Come?" and the mellow, psychedelic-flavored "Feels Like Glue." It's a must own for Embrace fans, a real treat for fans from the U.S., who possibly haven't had the chance to hear them before."

"This band is renowned for good quality bsides and this collection of songs make a better album than the Platinum selling Out Of Nothing and any of the other albums that went before it."
